Opera Teacher Enrichment

Music! Words! Opera! Utah Opera offers a week-long teacher development course to train interested teachers in a process of creating and producing original operas with their own students. During the following year(s), Utah Opera provides some financial support as well as a composer to aid in the music composition process. MWO Workshop 2007: July 9-13; Workshop 2008 TBD

Teachers at Opera-tunities Nights: Teachers can earn 4 re-licensure points on the student-audience final dress rehearsal nights of opera productions at the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are $5 per teacher, with a limit of 2 tickets per teacher.

Teachers in the House: Teachers can earn 4 re-licensure points at regular Utah Opera performances by signing in an hour before curtain at the Coat Check, attending the Preludes lecture, and then enjoying the performance. A similar offering is made at Utah Symphony performances.

Across the Arts III: Utah Opera, the Utah Shakespearean Festival, and Ballet West are again collaborating to offer a teacher workshop across three performing art genres. Based on success of our Romeo and Juliet collaboration last year.
